The Costa del Sol has a mild winter, and Málaga is the practical arrival for Marbella and Sotogrande. Gibraltar is closer to Sotogrande but comes with its own operational and political complications.

Málaga is a full-size international airport with established business aviation handling and generally good capacity. Summer weekends are busy but it rarely runs out the way the island airports do.

Gibraltar is closer to Sotogrande but has a short runway, distinctive wind conditions and border considerations. Jerez serves the west. Seville and Granada are inland alternatives. For Marbella itself, Málaga is normally the right answer.
